In honor of fallen Warrior Kara Allen, the varsity cheerleaders wore pink hair ribbons to Friday’s football game against Lake Orion.

The “pink out” was organized by senior Alicia Buford and other friends of former student Kara Allen. people are encouraged to wear pink to Friday’s football game at Southfield High School for the Arts and Technology, according to senior organizer Alicia Buford.

Pink was Allen’s favorite color, so that’s why Buford called for the “pink out,” she said.

Fans in the crowd also wore pink and brought pink balloons to celebrate Allen’s life.

Students were invited to wear pink to school on Tuesday in honor of Allen. The cost to participate in the Tuesday pink out was $5 and proceeds were donated to the Allen family, said social studies teacher Andrew Green, who co-sponsored the fund-raiser.

Allen and her three siblings died Sept. 21 at their home in Dearborn Heights. Allen’s step-father, Gregory Green, has been charged with the four murders.
